Hi guys Great blog btw These days I am highly selective of my tv viewing due to the poor quality of commissioning that goes on. Yet every once in a while a series comes along that gives hope. In this instance it is 6Degrees (BBC Northern Ireland) It focuses on a group of first year uni students in Belfast (6 main characters hence the title) (some Irish, others not) It is brilliantly written. The characters are warm, imperfect and ultimately human. Youth programme producers tend to create characters that are these days cold, arrogant and flawless. Either that or they are psychopaths, arsonists or have any other sensationalist ratings grabbing dysfunctional personality disorders. I refer to of course Holyoaks..I won't go there. I write this in the hope that more young people will be able to watch this series and identify with the real trials and tribulations that growing up can bring. With that said though the series is counter balanced perfectly with a warm and cheeky humour that is never mocking or discriminatory. A definite must watch. Thanks guys
